The problem that I overcame for this project was setting a limitation and creating a piece that obeyed the limits. For this project I chose to use monopoly money as my limitation. I had to create a piece that was made out of these 4 inch dollar bills . In the very beginning it was hard to establish exactly what I was going to make but I eventually thought of an idea that I liked. The limitation of using only monopoly money created several obstacles including creating an idea, after the idea phase it was the actual process that gave me the most trouble . I decided that I wanted to create a stencil of the monopoly man using the money as a background. The obstacles I had the most trouble crossing was the process and picturing the end result. I knew what I had to do it was just hard picturing what it would look like.
Did you consider how ideas would work before you tried them? Yes and no. I considered how the money would play a role in the overall art by rearranging them to see which options looked best, but with other parts I didn't. I didn't consider how to stencil would look on top of the money, I took a risk hoping it would turn out looking nice without testing the waters. I think this is what makes art so interesting. I was able to take risks and play it safe to create an interesting piece of art while working through the limitation I set for myself.
