by breanna AndreaThe medium I used was something I've never worked with before, which called for an interesting experience. The medium I used was gum and normally I would opt to paint something on a canvas that I could observe, but this time around I went on an alternate route.
Since I was working with gum everything that I did was new/different for me. I organized the gum in a way that was different having some pieces in their wrappers and others outside. I also used different types of gum shapes, colors and sizes which created contrast. The only familiar part of my project was the background because I used acrylic paints to create a base color that would allow the gum to pop! I'm very happy with the way my project turned out. I'm happy and equally as surprised that I can create interesting works of art while going outside my comfort zone. Looking back I wouldn't change anything. I liked the idea that I was able to not plan this project as much as I would previous ones and have it still turn out amazing. I just went with what looked nice, rather than mapping out where the gum was going because it changed based on what I thought looked good in that moment.
